Learning to use colons- Isla and Kian

In literacy we have been making sentences which include colons and commas.

We (Isla and Kian) found it funny to learn, making up sentences using people in our class and we feel that we learnt how to use the colon properly.

Kian- The dragon was vicious: it had an extremely shocking roar, it breathed fire and additionally terrible manners.

Isla- The cat was very cute: it was furry, fun to play with and also had beautuful, sparkly eyes.

The creature was fierce: it breathed fire, it growled loudly and moreover it stomped through the city.

Heather was tired: she yawned, she rubbed her eyes and she lay down, calmly.

Feeling excited Jared: opened a well-wrapped present, ran around and then energetically jumped up and down.

Isla drew beautifully: she shaded the drawings, used good detail and perfected her mermaid.

Tom was unhappy: he’d dropped his ice cream, mislaid his money and furthermore he’d spilt ketchup on his white t-shirt.

Mia wouldn’t keep still: she kept sitting up, looked like she had ants in her pants and generally wriggled about.
