Grass withought sunlight investigation

First of all today we looked at our plant tattoos which we had made three weeks ago. We had covered some of the leaves with a translusent material and had left the plants on the window sill so that they could get sunlight. We watered them daily. 
We looked at the plants today and noticed that the leaves that had been covered with the bin bag were now yellow in colour, instead of being a healthy green colour.  

We talked about plants being like chefs because they make their own food and sugar but need sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to stay alive and be healthy. This is called photosynthesis. 

Then, we finally made a visit to the nature area, where we had left our science investigation. We noticed that the grass that had been covered was flat, looked aunhealthy because it was yellow and looked like it was dying.
