Predicting the consequences (what might happen)

First in class we read the passage and discussed the question 'What might the outcome be of this situation? We then listed as many possibilities as we could come up with.
Gracie was in the middle of painting the book cover to his favourite book, when a dog rapidly ran into the classroom. It was covered in mud and smelt rather nasty. He then ran past the table, sprinkling water and mud all over Gracie’s precious creation.

We discussed our class reading target to try pausing in our own reading book to practice the skill of prediction. We will aim to link our suggestions of what we think could happen to other information/ideas from the text.

We then read Traction man and again used our prediction skills.

Here are our predictions, where we thought about what might happen next, while linking to ideas /items/information which has already been mentioned in the text. We highlighted our favourite prediction, explaining our choice.

Mia and Connor Traction Man then starts his special mission. He saves his scrubbing brush pet from the scary, evil toast monster.

Lola and Rachel The feisty pillows fell into the sink however fortunately Traction Man was in there too so he got them out and saved the day.

Lucas and Hayden The pillows came back however Traction Man stops them by swinging them around and throwing them on the floor. Then they ran away.

Sally and Grace He was cleaning the toilet with a pet and he accidentally dropped the pet down the toilet so his next special mission would have to be to go down it and into the pipes to find his precious friend, Scrubby.

Luke and Christopher Traction Man guards the toast but while he is doing this he eats on toast soldier to keep him going.

Charlie and Harvey The scrubbing brush pet was nearly suffocated by an evil villain called Dr Sped so Traction Man decided to save his friend. He does this by having a great idea to defeat the villain by making up his own evil plan.

Max and Jake Traction Man wakes up, then he realises that his pet has gone so he goes on a special mission to save him as we all know he is a superhero!

Mia and Connor Traction Man is going to end up in a flower bed, where he will play with his pet and perhaps also play with some new animals such as frogs and ants.

Chloe and Freddie Traction Man is going on a special mission under the blue water to save some evil rubber duckies.

Enya Traction Man goes for another dive to meet some new mermaids.

Joshua H  The pillows might team up with evil Mr Spade and then the brush might come to help Traction Man defeat all the baddies. They could do this by getting some weapons, including plastic swords which came in his action figure box.

Joshua N The scrubbing brush pet saves Traction Man from the evil villain by helping the pet to swim up to the top of the bath.

Ruby and Gracie When the boy was washing up he fell into the bowl which is dirty.

Owen and Brandon Someone sneaks up behind Traction Man and takes the toast from him.
