Inference skills in groups

Today we were working on our Inference skills to 'wring a sentence' or squeeze all the meaning we could get out of it. 

We looked at what we definitely knew, what we thought the author might mean and how certain words might make the reader feel towards the character.

We were curious and asked questions of what the text said, just like any good reader would.

At home, do the same with your reading book, really wringing out all that meaning.
