We have had a really exciting afternoon investigating materials that are reversible and irreversible when heated, cooled, burned or mixed.
We found out that:
Chocolate is reversible because we melted it and it turned to a liquid and then we put it into the fridge to cool it down and it turned to a solid again.
Bread is irreversible because when we put it into the toaster it went hard and crunchy but even when it was cooled down, it did not change back to soft bread.
Water is reversible because we put water into the freezer and it turned into ice. Then we took the ice out of the freezer and it melted and changed back to water.
Popcorn is irreversible because when we cooked the seeds. we couldn't change the popcorn back to corn seeds.
