Super Science

This week at Fosse Way we have been celebrating British Science Week and with this years theme being ‘Exploration and Discovery’ we thought what better way to celebrate this than to explore and discover new things for ourselves!

We had an extremely busy day on Monday where we looked at: chromatography, the porosity of different types of paper, how seeds are dispersed and how they fall (paper-copters) and how sugar reacts with different temperatures of water!

We had a really exciting afternoon on Tuesday where we explored how long it takes for different sized jelly cubes to dissolve in hot water. Ask your child to tell you what what we discovered...

We also used torches to look at layers of ice and observed what happened when we added salt, food colouring and popping candy!

Finally, we inflated balloons using fizzy pop and mentos! The results were very interesting. Take a look at the photos below showing some of the fantastic experiments we have done this week!
